Welcome to the Chesapeake Democratic Committee

There are several core beliefs that tie our party together. Democrats believe that we’re greater together than we are on our own — that this country succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same rules. Our party is focused on building an economy that lifts up all Americans, not just those at the top.

That’s why Democrats are working to make progress on issues like job creation, equal pay, education, health care, and clean energy.

The Chesapeake Democrats Beliefs

The Chesapeake Democratic Committee (CDC) is affiliated with the Democratic Party of Virginia. We support the ideals of the Democratic Party by engaging our citizens to use their talents, skills, and experience to work together to register our citizens to vote and to help them arrive at the polls on election day informed and ready to support our Democratic candidates.

We are more than a political organization. We are a community organization dedicated to upholding the democratic principles on which our nation was established. We believe an informed and engaged citizenry is vital to the continuance of freedom and the survival of these principles.

We promote and encourage participation of all citizens in our government. Every citizen must be allowed and encouraged to vote. Every vote is a voice, every voice should be heard.

We believe that public service is an honor and therefore, we must seek out candidates for office that are honorable and will serve in a manner worthy of the trust of those whom they serve.

It is our civic duty to build and maintain a strong Democratic organization capable of promoting our values throughout the City of Chesapeake and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
